Business class travelling a thing of the past?
It's been a while since I had to travel for my job. I mean a WHILE. Fortunately I can say that I have a job considering the world economic crisis that we just experienced. Some might argue that the economic crisis is over and some might argue that it is not over yet.Nevertheless, what ever your opinion on this matter I have noticed something since yesterday. I am now sitting in a coffeehouse in Berlin Tegel airport waiting on my flight. When I look around me there are people in suits and leather briefcases having some coffee and waiting for their flights. I saw the same thing yesterday when I boarded my flight in Düsseldorf. Corporate workforce flying budget. It made me think and look closer. These budget airlines are brilliant! They are a means to an end. "Use me and abuse me" way of thinking. No wonder big airlines are struggling. When you look closer it is not about the business class travelling anymore, but rather how mobile are you and your work/office is. The corporate is traveling with high end devices such as laptops, tablets, and smartphone as they are on the go. Work never stops!I do own these devices also and I am guilty of doing the same. Cheap traveling and maintaining a secure access to your work/office. So why pay expensive business class tickets? Is high end business class travelling a thing of the past? Or, do people still do it for the bragging rights?Ok, I just finished my cappuccino. It was not a good one. I have to go drop my luggage. Yes, I'm flying budget!
